BREW is home to BAFTA Connect member, Writer/Director Emma Swinton.
Inspired by the landscapes and folklore from her roots in the North of England, Emma specialises in the magical and historical.
Emma graduated from the University of Westminster with a BA Hons in Film & TV Production in 2007. Since Emma has gone on to make short films that have screened at leading, global film festivals including Palm Springs, Calgary International Film Festival, Underwire, Aesthetica Short Film Festival, and London Short Film Festival.
Emma's last short Unearthed was made after winning the highly competitive Alexa Challenge competition organised by Arri and Directors UK.
Emma has diverse industry experience, including Shadowing and Assisting the Emmy award winning director, Jessica Hobbs on season 5 of The Crown. As well as directing leading talent including BAFTA award winner, John Rhys-Davies. Burn Gorman and Jo Hartley. 
Emma is currently in post-production on a proof of concept short film funded by the BFI. Emma directed and co-wrote the film which is centred around the events of the Pendle witch trials.
